Description
Red Mill of the Raritan River N.J. by Regina Geoghan. A landscape view of the historic Red MIll Museum framed by beautiful fall foliage in Clinton NJ. The 200 foot wide waterfall of the south branch of the Raritan River is in the forground. The Mill, built in 1810, is noted in House Beautiful magazine, Feb 2016, as one of the 25 most beautiful mills in the USA. Originally used as a woolen mill, its role changed over time to process grains, plaster, talc and graphite. It was also used to generate electricity and pump water for the town. The Red Mill, an historic landmark building, hosts many events during the year, the most popular being the Haunted Mill at Halloween.
